These are classic gems for sure. But I would flip the nas and jay comparisons.

Nas is more like The Wire. He's respected and critically acclaimed but never received the proper mainstream recognition. Nas has never won a Grammy and The Wire would always get snubbed by the Emmy and had low ratings thru it's entire run. Nas didn't achieve major success until the 2nd album. A lot of people discovered The Wire on DVD.

Jay and Breaking Bad were always given the highest of recognition on both a critical and commercial scales. Numerous awards, high sales, high ratings and mainstream media press quickly.
