Old thread but I had to bump. Over the past few months I beat PoE1 and have been playing this for the past couple of weeks.
If you're an RPG head you need to cop this, preferably for PC but get it however you can. Doubly so if you're black; this is one of the few RPG's that actually has excellent representation of the brehs. I'm honestly shocked it's so under the radar when games like Divinity and Dragon Age are popular.

Something about the immersion of the first POE just didn't transition to the second for me (though I still enjoyed it). That & the no rest/basically limitless empowers was off as well. I felt no 
feeling like clearing a level of the endless paths in the first then deciding should I just call it a day with my battered party or travel deeper. POE 1 might be top 5 for me. Avowed is gonna be day 1.

I heard it was severely bugged on ps4 i wanted to cop but I’m waiting on a patch if there was/is one at least

Yeah I'll admit that was one aspect I think was a little better in the first one. That battle of attrition that you had to deal with when dungeon diving made it important that you were properly managing encounters. I'm ok with the trade off though, I hated that I couldn't always go all out with my Wizards or Priests due to the cast limit.
For what it's worth I played about a third of the first game on PS4 without any bugs. I only switched to PC because the loading times on console were way too long. That and the 100 item stash limit were really grating.
Bought Pillars one on the switch and it still dont work. Won't ever buy another game from versus evil again

This one is flames I’m only just leaving the first island and I’m loving the hell outta this game 
I always heard the load times were bad enough to not purchase on ps4 but I got a ps5 and said fukk it the ssd has make this playable. Safe to say the loading is tolerable imo.
Made a character like Guts, berserker with a great sword and and this build is fun af

Shadowdancer (Monk/Rouge(Assassin)), Shattered Pillar Monk, and Late game Wizards melt everything. Monk with Whispers of the Wind is nasty
or the empowered inner death that can literally instakill top tier enemies. Avowed is gonna be nice but the streets really needed that Pillars 3 announcement
