Jeezy and Bun are real tight...been tight a real long time....Jeezy knew Pimp outside of music through Bun of course, and Bun and Pimp wasn't too tight, so Jeezy ain't have a real "bond" with Pimp like that....Pimp didn't know of Jeezy until Jeezy moved to Atlanta for good and by that time he had plenty money and was rolling w/Meechie and crew.
Jeezy was hollering Free Pimp C all the while he was locked up BTW.
Pimp came home....Jeezy gave them a few free verses for free....mainly them verses was for Bun to use on his album(s) and a free verse for the UGK group album.....when Pimp started working on his solo...he reached out to Jeezy initially to do a song...Jeezy agreed, and Pimp was sent a invoice....Pimp felt he deserved the same homie love that Jeezy always gives Bun but their relationship was different....kind of like how Tip will never charge Jeezy, and Jeezy will never charge Tip...also Jeezy was still at the height of his run, and he wanted what he felt his name was worth at the time....even tho they shot Pimp a homie fee...the damage was done.
Pimp started throwing shots at Jeezy and of course the now famous radio interview.....a lot of people missed the Tip jabs in that interview but at that time Pimp felt slighted by the top dogs in the A in some fashion (Jeezy/Tip). .....mainly Jeezy tho.
Jeezy did respond in AHH and Pimp said he respected how Jeezy handled the situation and himself.....Jeezy also shot back on that remix, alot of people missed that too.
Pimp ....RIP to him....but he was on one before his untimely passing....at one point he was trying to broker peace between all southern rappers and then he went to the other end by dissing Atlanta and Texas rappers....at the same time really....that's where his Legend came of him being so outspoken, but prior to that, he really never had the label that he has been given since his passing.
