lmao can we not derail my thread :jawalrus:

No problem :shaq:

This dude isn't worried about the lawsuit people, he's trying to get this case overturned in a appeal process. The jury did him and his legal team a great deed by claiming the shoe that he was wearing as a "dangerous weapon". If Nike decides to acquiesce and admit some sort of accountability by not labeling their product as potentially harmful, then he'll lose, but if they say it's not a dangerous product or a weapon, I honestly believe his case will get overturned. As sick as it sounds, this is brilliant.

im sayin , leave it to a nicca to come up with this idea. 100 years for an assault is abusing your powers even for a repeat offender and and his conviction just maybe overturned because of it. im interested in how this plays out tho.

It's not the abuse of power which is evident in the case that's a concern, it's the incompetent judge that allowed the jury to offer their flawed interpretation or instruction without shutting it down. I will definitely keep an eye on this case because he has a legitimate argument. Do you really believe Nike will come out and agree that their product is dangerous? The negative P.R. will hit the roof especially on cases where their shoes were used in alleged crime.

And for those that will come in here and get emotional over this, but not knowing ppl get off on technicality as much as they do get sentenced on technicalities. The guy probably has done everything they say he has done, but it's in his right to defend himself whether guilty or not. The judge is at fault for allowing this to happen.

@sanityovar8ted you got a kid, I got kids too :lupe:

with a conglomerate like nike im unsure of how they might handle this. i feel they gonna move swiftly because of the negative press tho. i cant knock him tho , if they told me my shoes were a dangerous weapon and i got 100 years because of them, id be suing to.
