I am aware of the richness of Detroit's surrounding suburbs. But you can get high scale living cheaper around Milwaukee on top of having a city with better night life and doesn't look like the grim reaper's back yard.

I mean, if you just wanna live in the 'burbs that's fine. Otherwise Milwaukee is the better choice on so many levels. (Detroit gets a big point for Windsor though)
