man I hated those Pistons

Hate a team full over overachieving players playing basketball the right way![]()

It drove me nuts how much credit fans and the media gave Brown for that run. They were on a near identical pace with him until they traded for Sheed.Went to Utah for the money and didn't live up to the coins
On topic...the feeling of watching my team let alone a team full of guys that had been on various teams and none were considered all nba first team or superstars defeat a dynasty and end the Lakers run of shaq nd kobe was beautiful. Larry brown a fukk boy though cause of his lack of time for dark who could of been better trained and for the way he treated players. Imagine if Carlisle stayed for a few more years...i think rick would have netted us back to back titles and at least two more finals appearances in the east.
A year later they lost to a Spurs team that is rather similar to the one that's in the finals right now. That's insane...
Really makes me wonder what may have happened if the Pistons had drafted Melo, signed their vets to smarter deals, etc. Billups can still play at a good level today IMO, Prince is still serviceable, etc - if they were on a team with dept that allowed them to rest like Pop does with his older stars, would they still be good today?

Duncan Parker and Gino know their role, play their position and respect their coach. Imagine POP getting in Bens ass...not happening. When Sheed came and started calling out bs ref calls so did rip and tay...Pistons were getting entitled. Spurs are a once in a generation team in their sport. Great system. I have my doubts Melo and him would have worked. Would have taken many years for a relationship to develop like AI...I'll take a guaranteed 04 Title over drafting Melo dealing with Chemistry issues and doing what they were doing anyway (5 additional ECF's)
Rip in game 6 on the road against NJN :wows:
One white boy in each series getting in our ass for one game (Croshere, Scalabrine, Medvadenko)
Game 2 against Indy :wows:
Billups controlling the tempo game 1 against LAL..the MOST CONTROLLED PG performance in a finals I've ever seen.
That INDY NJN LAL run yall :wows:
