Police are investigating after a pit bull viciously attacked a woman on a New York City subway last week. On Friday, a straphanger was standing on the 4 train when the dog, which was on the owner’s leash, latched onto the rider’s foot and would not let go. Other riders tried to free the woman’s foot from the dog’s tightly-clenched mouth. Authorities are now trying to identify the dog's owner. One veterinarian explained how you could escape a dog’s attack in such a closed space.
A pit bull attacked a straphanger recently on a No. 4 train. CBS2's Hazel Sanchez went right to the head of the MTA to find out why the dog was allowed on the subway in the first place.
Police are investigating a pit bull attack on the subway in Lower Manhattan after a dog latched onto a 22-year-old woman's shoe.
Eyewitnesses believe the people were the problem, not the pet. Now authorities are looking for the dog's owner.
In a 60-second video, the pit bull can be seen latching onto a young woman's shoe and refusing to release until the sneaker comes off. Then the owner is seen throwing the shoe at the other riders.
