A pit attacked my dog at the beach one day. They were playimg for like an hour and when it was time to go the pit snapped and just attacked my dog. I pick up a branch and start beating the shyt out of the pit and it didn't phase him at all.
Luckily the owners were able to get him off and there was no physical damage but emotionally it fukked my dog up. To this day he won't allow another dog to come up to him if he's on a leash he will attack.

here's the thing that most pit owners are arguing, it's not random. you will not find experts to say they are born aggressive or randomly attack
they expensive if you want a pure one from a great line and breeder. and you need to take the steps to socialize it early. get it formal training. give it space. run out it's energy. etc etc. things you should do with any dog, but it matters more because they are more likely to kill if they bite
why its not random is it's always some dummy with a $300 "pitt", who crates it all day long in an apt, hits it cause "you gotta be tough with them", and then lets it free roam and do what it wants. they aren't mentally retarded and just snap at random times and events. they're like bad kids. they grow up to be bad ass adults if they don't learn from jump

Every dog is different. I have an American bull dog who is about that action. I was walking her and a Pitt ran up on us. She was ready to go but she sat their waiting on my word but the pitt was just trying to play and was harmless. The pitt got the message and ran away.
My AB is the livest dog I ever met and I've had a pitt and Shepherd. On the flip side, I have a Male AB who is her brother and wouldn't hurt a fly. He's 85lbs and doesn't even bark.
