That little piece of land won’t do much. They need to revamp the entire zoning laws first

:mjlol:

make preposterous statements, brehs.
the proposed new land would be 20% larger than the Upper West Side.
it would extend a mile into the Harbor.

Land reclamation by landfill?

That's how they extended battery park I believe. They took the landfill/dirt from. Where they dug out the "bathtub" for the OG WTC..and dumped it into the Hudson to extend the land.

a good chunk of Lower Manhattan is built on trash and didn't exist until a couple hundred years ago.
after the Great Fire in Chicago, they took all the debris, dumped it in the Lake Michigan and built a whole new hood on it. :dead:

Downtown Brooklyn, Manhattan, Northern Queens and South Bronx should be refined for high rise dense living the same way to see in Dubai and Tokyo

if you mean build sky scrapers then i say no and fukk that.
i'd rather see underground expansion of domiciles.
NYC is perfect for underground living because it's all bedrock.
imagine...everyone underground rocking helmets with lamps :noah:

This has been done multiple times in the UAE...

Why not bless the greatest island in the world and extend it...

word up.
at 2:50 in the vid he explains how this was done in Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor.

idk what you talking about but that little piece of added land wouldn’t do much to fix the housing crisis. Revamp all the zoning laws first so this new added land does actually make a difference

I'd predict push back from people that enjoy being having the view or property at the waters edge.

Other than that, cool idea.

Lower Manhattan is primarily the financial district.
nobody is gonna complain about loosing views.
everyone in the new hood will love their new views.
