Why don’t they just try to make things taste better?
You got plant based salmon now but you come home from the supermarket with a tomato that doesn’t taste like anything. Milk in America is trash. You can’t get a decent loaf of bread ANYWHERE. The goddamn cheese isn’t even real cheese. It’s “cheese product”
They focusing on all this goofy shyt.
Who is "they"? The people making vegan products have literally nothing to do with the people who produce your tomatoes, milk, bread, and cheese.
The quality of food taste has gone down generally because corporate farming operations have completely taken over and pushed the family farmers out of business. The only goals of corporate farming are volume and profit, so they aim for doing the least work possible on the worst soil possible to produce the most product possible. As a result, most of their product is growing steadily lower in nutritional value and taste. If you force a tomato plant to produce 5x as many tomatoes as it used to, where is it going to get all the nutrients to make 5x as many tomatoes healthy and flavorful? It's still the same plant, and dumping a bunch of fertilizer and water on the thing isn't going to provide the micronutrients and such that you really need. Especially when they're forcing the tomatoes to grow out of season and/or picking them nowhere near ripe then playing games to get them to ripen later. Same goes for daily cows which produce something like 7x as much milk as they're naturally supposed to. Corporations are destroying the quality of food products in the name of almighty profits, and then we have to put that shyt into our bodies.
This is why I've said before, the more folk who start growing their own food and doing it right, the better off we'll be.
