Plasma is the way to go

sports and gaming are way better on plasmas

got a panasonic 46" viera plasma...

sports is :ohlawd: on it

burn in eventually goes away btw...and you can set that 3 hour turn off option if its not used

Why not LED?
LEDs have prominent screen uniformity issues that are almost unavoidable. typically the backlight will bleed into the set around the edges which can give off a hot spot like glow. my LG has it on the top with the settings you can minimize it but still noticeable. i took back multiple TVs because the issues were worse on them. i thought Best Buy was gonna get pissed and block me from returning so i decided to keep the LG since it was the best of the lot.

Plasmas don't have those uniformity issues. from my understanding once you break them in they're the superior TV tech.

Brehs I need Help.....
I just copped a 60inch Panasonic UT50. ( In the store the plasmas looked 100 times better imo) and I heard they have almost no lag when gaming.
The question I have is how bad is burn- in on plasmas ?
Is it as bad as people online say it is or is it just a minor inconvenience?
Thanks in advance.

congrats...I've had my 46" samsung plasma for about 4 yrs now, no problems. Just make sure you have it in large room because they give off a lot of heat.

my two favorite TV's that I own are both plasma's and I can honestly say that I've never experienced any kind of burn in on either of them

I had a plasma but I took it back and got an LCD....I just can't handle the glare....plus they are so much heavier if you move things around a lot.

Both of my LEDs suffer from screen glare. The thing I hate about plasmas is how dim they look.

Extended warranties are a waste of money. I've never had a product go past the standard one year point then die on me unless I broke it myself outside of those launch PS2s and 360s. All those warranties do is let these companies charge you more for something there's a high probability you'll never use.

also extended warranties almost always have their first year overlap the manufacturer's warranty. odds are if your product is gonna fail its either gonna happen in the first year or years after an extended warranty would do you any good.

Best TV I ever had was a 50 inch plasma Hitachi.

Picture quality was:ohmy:..especially for sports.

I have a 55 inch LED right now and that shyt is weak. When I watch sports, it feels like that shyt is straining my eyes

I'll never buy another LED.I'm strictly about them plasmas now

Here's my thing. Plasmas supposedly always have a higher refresh rate than LCDs and led's correct?

But do they have a actual feature for the "soap opera" effect like the 120hz and 240hz features on LEDs/lcd's offer? I always see plasmas tout 600hz or more on their feature list but I never SEE this feature in motion them...I never see that effect while playing. I like to have 120hz/240hz on my sharp led at all times when playing games...its make the 30fps games look like 60fps...shyt is very important to me.

Maybe I haven't played on enough plasmas but I swear I never seen one that played games as smooth as the 120hz/240hz modes on all the led I've owned. Somebody school me on that.
