imagine music is like food.......808 bass is a purely digital phenomenon, its not a digital processing of an actual string bass or bass drum where actual vibration goes from the source to your ear.....its an artificial simulation that tricks your ear into thinking its hearing low end vibration from an instrument. its the music equivalent of eating "fake food" like powdered eggs and government cheese.
then to add to it.....you have these horrible "beat makers" (I wont call them producers cause they dont understand sound on a fundamental level) that try to jack up their 808s as much as possible by pumping up the gain, reprocessing it to make it more dense, and more dense, and more dense....going back to the food metaphor.......now its not just processed food, its literally like eating ROCKS.
plus when bass is pumped up into a positive decebal range it creates static......one of the most inherently dissonant sounds to the human ear

Them first two records were classics but this is ass tbh and I’m upset about it.

this. I’ve never seen someone kill the buzz of their own album like Carti. Even my 15 year old nephew (and Carti stan) is like@ the idea of a carti album now.
UPDATE: my 15 year old nephew stayed up to 12:45 to listen to this shyt then turned it off after two tracks. Today he told me the whole thing is trash. He looked so defeated. I was sitting there like

The beats on Die Lit nearly from start to finish are far better than anything on WLR. You can thank the absence of Pi’erre Bourne on WLR for that. Also, the mixing/mastering isn’t very good. I have no idea what you’re hearing to think they sound similar, cause most of the beats on WLR sound like Future and Uzi throwaways.
Got to listen to it fukked up for full experience
