Not really depends on your desk and chair setup

If you have a nice chair and set it up ergonomically its definitely comfortable

I only play Mugen it first i couldn't bare sitting on my chair while pressing buttons, eventually I got used to it.

Been gaming at my desk for like 4 years almost exclusively now. I don't mind being up close with my desk but I also don't game on a 34-inch screen so that probably helps. When I game on my couch its on a 55 inch 4k tv from a much farther distance than my desk.
