Series was never a system seller or touted as the game that would make people buy a Quad though.

Both were hyped as the reason to own each console

Titanfall was supposed to be what Gears 1 was for the 360 and while it was good and moved systems, it didn't have nearly the impact it was supposed to have.

Thus far TitanFall has sold more than gears

Also, the resolution thing is gonna be ugly the whole gen for Xbox 1. They're gonna have to get the price lower than the PS4, not even equal to it. Internet, word of mouth is too strong at this point and people are clearly aware of the power difference at this point.

A "power difference" never had an effect on the success of consoles before, it probably won't here. And as usual as the generation goes on, the performance differences will be less.

The XB1 is not gonna catch the PS4 in sales, Playstation is a GLOBAL brand. But that's not to say that the XB1 can't and won't be profitable for MS. That's what they should concentrate and strive towards which I'm sure they are. All that hard work that was put into Xbox 360 increasing it's marketshare has gone directly down the toilet due to horrible choices by Xbox leadership.

Promoting Phil to lead the Xbox brand was a great move imo. But I'm pretty sure MS has revised it's expectations on XB1 sales for the gen. That 3rd console curse is real.

Your right. Xbone I don't think will take off until there exclusive AAA titles like Fable, gears, halo and games like that drop....the same can be said for the PS4 but with it being the lead platform for this gen the multiplats will look better on it and they have a stronger exclusives library.

Pretty much. Wouldn't be shocked to see MS try to jumpstart the next gen early again in a few years like they abandoned the OG Xbox. 2018 for Xbox "2"

I agree about the power difference, but this is a different day and age. While the OG Xbox had the power advantage, it dropped over a year later and the PS2 was already off to an incredible start that was too late to catch (along with the PS brand being stronger). Never has a console been more powerful, dropped the same time as its major competitor (sorry WiiU), AND was cheaper than it's main competitor. That is a first.

I get it's not out in all of those territories but those territories are not strongholds for MS. They are more pro Sony areas.

Yes that's true. To a lot of people TitanFall is the better game.

Has nothing to do with sales expectations though. In reality being the established IP ment that infamous had the higher sales expectations.

There's a lot of "firsts" this gen, and projecting 10 years worth of sales off of 4 months is a bit premature in my opinion. The PS3 launched underpowered and a year late but was still able to catch up

And I'm calling on TF outselling Gears 1 on the 360. Gears 1 did 3 million in 10 weeks on the 360. Forza 5 did around 1.3 million in 10 weeks.

PS3 was never underpowered compared to the 360. Hard to code for and more expensive yes, but not underpowered. XB1 is CLEARLY underpowered compared to the PS4. That is a fact AND it's not gonna catch the PS4.

The reason we don't get a lot of new IPs is because they aren't expected to sell. We have not had a "new gears" since gears itself.
