This is the president of PlayStation basically admitting that dude lied, and pretending that song had nothing to do with the game.

They did help them. They put them on stage every chance they got. Sony paid for marketing and trailers, and they even had a PR person at the interviews with Sean Murray.

What should Sony's stance be? They supported a project that didn't deliver all that was promised and are now assessing blame where the blame should lie. Sony prolly could have been more hands on more aware any major shifts in final product. Then you would have what could be argued as an establishment influencing the creativity of an indie. Sony let em cook and the game isn't good. PlayStation is king and heavy is the head that wears the crown

True but didn't they give Sony a final copy before outright being finished to test?!
The Sony pres was like it's not even finished I imagine if he was more hands on but it doesn't fall on the Sony pres that failure falls on the publisher...

This wasn't just any title. They closely tied this game to the Playststion brand. The game even says "Sony PlayStation presents" when you turn it on.

Even if they had no clue and were lead on like the rest of us, that was still incompetence on their part for not doing their due diligence with a title they closely tied their brand to.

Either way it's not a good look to now throw dude under the bus after they partnered with him for years.

Had the game delivered, shu would have been in interviews praising the partnership and Sony's work to bring the title to fruition.

It's not their game, all they did was pay to keep off Xbox and put it on stage. They had nothing to do with the development itself.
