The console crowd is the oddball of the tech industry. Only ones who get MAD when their consoles become obsolete. By the time the xbox one and PS4 came out, Microsoft and Sony were already drawing up plans shortly after launch on what to do for the next round. This never stops, the 360/PS3 generation was an exception. Console cycles are generally 4-5 years.
If this new PS4 turns out to be the same price as the original and I can have actual 4k graphics, I'd definitely cop it. The price will have to be right though.

Butthurt losers probably spent months saving up on consoles and mad at people with disposable income ready to jump to the next best thing. Dudes seriously think these companies should wait to make newer versions of their current consoles just because the time isn't right for their financial situation. You spent $400 3 years ago. It's time to move on. No one's forcing you to buy something new. Let the rest of us eat. I'm not trying to wait til 2020 to get a new console

Many console games have development cycles longer than that. How is this model going to be sustainable for the creators? And we complain about Day 1 patches now?
It's going to be very problematic when devs are rushing (even more than they do now) to get a game out before the next hardware refresh.
If they release cross compatible scaling games that work on both who cares?
