The PlayStation Portal remote player experience to evolve with new system update

PlayStation Plus Premium members will have access to test Cloud Streaming (Beta) for select PS5 games on Game Catalog.

Call me crazy but I’m like 95% sure they’ll add in a Cloud streaming feature in the future.

Hmm portal just got interesting. This the only thing that can stream ps games from the cloud, besides the consoles, right?

Or am I tripping ?

Not sure about other portable devices but I have used PS Plus streaming on my steamdeck. The big issue is that you need to use the PS4/PS5 touchpad to even start a number of games and since you can't (or I haven't found a way) to map the touchpad on SD you can't even load certain games.

Can't speak on any other ones like ROG Ally, etc though. Streaming has worked surprisingly well in the limited time I tried it on the portal and I don't see myself going back to the SD once it's out of the beta phase and more of the catalog is available for streaming due to the ergonomics of the device, haptics, and not having to worry about which games I can and can't play because of the touch pad.

This is a great step for the portal. Add the older classics for streaming as well and now the portal is literally a bargain for $200 to stream games.

Online users are reporting the micro stutter has been apparently fixed. This was one of the main issues plaguing the portal at launch.

Can't wait to try this, I used to notice the micro stutter even though I know how smooth the game looks on a TV.
