Basically this, corny cacs and house nikkas the only one who hate him. He's like every other potential player who underperformed, he doesn't deserve the hate.He was liked until he stupidly opted in at Orlando and got traded to the Lakers. All this corny shyt (like most nikkas aren't corny, post moves, baby mamas etc) is bullshyt.
He used to be the leading vote getter in all star ballots until Kobe tried to pull his card and he stood up for himself. The LA media & ESPN killed him for it and turned him into a hate figure. His popularity hasn't recovered since.

I don't think it's a lack of effort - you don't win three DPOY for not trying. That's just his persona, and probably how he deals with all the attention. It's more to do with his back, the fact that he isn't that skilled offensively, and he seems to go into his shell once he feels the refs are out to get him.

I'm an Orlando fan.. All you really have to do is a bit of research. The way he left Orlando and turned his back on the franchise, his work ethic is subpar, he's a clown who doesn't really care about being the best, and last but not least his treatment of the one man who has always stood in his corner and defended him even to this day SVG.

Hes simply not as good as he wants everyone to believe. Hes not the guy to lead a team. Hes a high tier role player. Most number 1 guys on most teams aren't really leaders either. They are just the best player on their team. There is a difference.
