Criminals already get their guns from the black market. Banning them would make them more difficult to attain therefore driving the black market prices up. The average breaking and entering criminal would then forgo purchasing a weapon because they'd be too expensive.

It depends on how high the prices go up. If it was 3 grand for a 9mm, then we probably wouldn't have any guns on the streets. I live in Texas and I keep heat at home. I also know of at least 5 of my neighbors that keep guns at home. Our area isn't crime free but I'm sure that criminals think twice before running up in someone's house unless they are positive that nobody is home. If we ban guns, then the people who obtain them on the black market would be at too great of an advantage against us.

And there was another shooting just a while ago at a mall in Oregon. I have 4 little siblings, I would be devastated if something happened to them?

The shooter deserves whatever come his way. I feel for the parents man.
