a lot of folks here have just given up. People are discouraged about voting b/c all the news about voter suppression even though there are a ton of ways to manuever around it.

I'm mapping out my exit plan from here if McCrory wins

I'm no expert but a 13 day event in an arena filled with people may get more revenue than a two day event. Not saying I'd prefer that over the all star game, but it looks more profitable to me.

I'm glad all those that sacrificed during the civil rights movement didn't get discouraged and give up. I get being frustrated but i don't get laying down.

I argue with my wife all the time about this she says voter suppression hinders poor people the most. I agree it does but the excuses drive me nuts.

She talks about how poor people don't have cars to go to the polling booth and i'm like i know your cousins don't have cars but they find a way to the club on the weekend.

Bum a ride to the booth, I'm sure they know someone that's going.

If they're not registered, bum a ride to register.

If you don't have a state ID, bum a ride to get one.

It would take around 3 days between now and 2020 to get id, register, and vote.

Mail the ballot in, they have an address. It's annoying to hear all these complaints about something they can fix. I used to listen but now i cut the convo short. No matter what they say I end it with "says the person that didn't vote".

If McCroy wins i'd leave if I were you too.

    The 2018 World Equestrian Games will take place near Charlotte, N.C., and that's a really big deal. Massive, in fact, according to the state's top official.
    
    “This is bigger, with all due respect, than the All-Star Game, a football game, a basketball game — combined, times two. This economic impact is huge,” North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory said Friday ( via the Charlotte Observer) .
    
    The 13-day equestrian competition was awarded to Mill Spring, N.C., about 80 miles west of what was supposed to be the host city for the 2017 NBA All-Star Game.

    The league pulled the game from the home of the Hornets because of North Carolina's controversial HB2 legislation, widely viewed as anti-LGBT.
    
    The NCAA and ACC, as well as many prominent artists such as Bruce Springsteen, have also pulled events from North Carolina citing HB2.
    
    McCrory added that the World Equestrian Games could be the largest sporting event in North Carolina history with an economic impact of more than $400 million.

If that isn't a complete "F**k You" to Charlotte I don't know what is. Replace 3 major events in the city, with one bulls**t event 80 miles away in a county that probably supports HB2. Thanks, Pat.
