Went in completely blind (besides knowing Gilligan and Seehorn were involved) and an episode in, this feels like Gilligan going back to his X-Files roots.

The Sci Fic aspect (and the female lead) makes me wonder if the Breaking Bad/Sopranos/Peaky Blinders NeckBeard types are gonna stay with the show.

There's overlap for sure between Dexter Type Fans and Dexter's Laboratory type Fans, but I can already see the casuals dumping this like they dumped Lost, West World, and anything along those lines.

Doesn't matter really.

It was renewed for season 2 before the first ep even aired and Apple TV is notoriously lax when it comes to ratings.

I haven't watched this yet, will watch both eps next week.

I took it as meaning Carol and the other 11 are immune. We saw the asian dude kiss Carol and it didnt work. So they doing research or w/e trying to figure out how to turn the 12, until then, the immune have free reign with millions of servants at their command :manny:

I agree with you that it sucks that only 12 ppl are left. Wouldve been interesting to see some Walking Dead factions trying to form and go to war with each other or something. With 12 ppl, I dont see too much drama shyt happening. Im assuming at some point they secretly work on a cure or some shyt to change someone back and that's when the show really picks up :manny:

Rhea Seehorn is incredibly unlikable to me...she annoyed me in Better Call Saul too. Its a cool premise tho, nothing mindblowing so far

Taking the "Walking Dead factions, going to war with each other" would be ridiculously generic. I'm glad (and continue to hope) it hasn't gone down that route.

The fact that Gilligan showed his [initial] hand that quickly suggests to me there's plenty more twists and turns to come. I don't know why anyone would just dismiss the show as being as straight-forward of not needing multiple seasons when we don't know the outlook of it yet.

One thing that I did found jarring and a borderline misstep is the transition between Carol dealing with her partner dying and realizing the world around her was the not the same anymore all in one episode, and the hastily going into interactions with those who're immune too for an entire episode right after that. Neither carries even remotely the same weight, and what was uncovered in Episode 2 didn't feel like we needed all that time designated to what was happening, beyond serving a purpose for Carol's character arc.

Vince deserves the benefit of the doubt, so I'll reserve full judgement until I see more.

I figured the drop off in suspense would happen but didn’t think it would be that quickly. Hopefully we get a little more action going forward.
