Watched the first ep, thought it was dope and I'm sure it's been pointed out, heavy "X-Files" vibes. Which is only right given Gilligan's pedigree.
The only minor complaint (and it's possible it will be addressed later) is what was the plan had that rat not bit the lab worker? How was this meant to spread? Was it even meant to spread? We obviously see it as creepy as hell but it could've been meant as a gift (a unified planet, everyone content) that whoever was trying to spread.
I see people comparing this to "Rick & Morty" but it's closer to a less sinister version (so far, anyway) of season 4 of "Angel". But I'm sure if we go even farther back there's other examples.

My guess is that their plan was for capitalism to take over and big pharma would eventually make happy drugs to help people suffering from depressions, PTSD, case of the Mondays. Even during early clinical trials it would probably be enough infected to spread over the world quickly.
I don’t remember there ever being a plan. Seemed like they were just trying to infect the rats with what looked like a virus, and observe to see what it did.
They would have killed the rats because there were no results, then infected a new batch and observed again. Eventually it was going to get out somehow.
I wonder if we’ll get flashbacks to the time after the scientist figured out it was RNA and before the mouse bite in the lab. I’d like to see patient zero and how it spread from there.
I mean the plan of whoever sent the virus (or whatever the hell it is) to begin with.
We have a show because the rat bit the lab technician. I'm asking how it was meant to spread had that not happened.
Which is why I said I wonder if whoever sent it sees it as a gift as opposed to a hostile takeover. Kinda like "do whatever you want with this".
Fred.
The lab tech bit by the mouse was patient zero. That was the first time the RNA made it into a human being.
I’d like to see a flashback to the military finding out.
Seems to me patience was/is a central to their plan. Keep sending the signal, eventually humans will notice it. Eventually they’ll figured out it’s RNA. Eventually they’ll introduce it to humans (either by accident like we saw or on purpose).
The mouse bite may feel convenient but when you step back 600 light years to look at the big picture, that was hardly the most unlikely event that needed to take place to get us here.
What makes you say that? Vince didnt have anything to do with lost.Is this show like LOST?
If it is, you guys will be very disappointed in the end.
That show was psychological sci-fi too and they just didn't get the ending right. What makes you say that? Vince didnt have anything to do with lost.
Yea, that isn't Vince's style. He already got the whole shyt laid out to go 4 seasons and said he wouldnt have problems shortening it or extending it. BB and BCS gives him some leeway imo.The writers were like "we were just making shyt up".
