If this was pokemon, I wouldn't be playing. unless it was dbz

I actually played ingress, so I'm not arguing that.
However there are plenty of pokemon game spin off that dont do numbers. The main games always do.... I look at this as one of the many spin offs. The only thing this has in common with the main pokemon games everyone keeps comparing it to is catching pokemon.
I'm not denying the franchise is part of the charm. But its not the sole reason the game is popular and people continue to play after day one. It is a big reason of why people give it shot in the 1st place however.
Especially with moon and sun coming out in a few monthsThe spin offs are just that. Spin offs. They don't have the main formula the main games do. shyt like Mystery Dungeon and Pokémon pinball and shyt lol.
This is a watered down version of the main concept of the series that expands on the social atmosphere. AND IT'S FREE.
It's a genius idea.
What does this have to do with anything, pokemon being a successful franchise doesn't mean the game that dropped should be doing the numbers that its doing just from the name alone.
Nintendo owns a portion of the company that made it. Along with googleNintendo didn't even make the game
Just cause you think it's meh doesn't mean others do. People realy like overwatch. Blizzard is a reason to try it. Nobody's going to keep playing it if they don't like it just because blizzardso a game with an EXCLUSIVE TITLE FOR DECADES ONLY BEING RELEASED ON NINTENDO HAND HELDS is finally on another platform and you think that has nothing to do with the success?
Overwatch is a meh shooter and it is dominating because "Blizzard" and absolutely nothing else.
It seems more like a fad rooted in both nostalgia and social media. I'm not talking about Pokemon itself but Pokemon Go.Pokemon go goes back to the roots of gaming to a certain extent, its charming seemingly straight forward and easy to get into, you can boot it up gothrow a couple pokeball's miss and after the 1st battle your
There's a brief explanation on not even a quarter of what you need to know and then your thrust into the game. At its core there's not much to do, there's not epic plot nor graphic's, the game crashes and bugs out....So why then is Pokemon go such a hit?
Simple because 1) Its free, lets not deny how huge of a deal that is, even if it was 99 cent I probably wouldn't have took the time to buy it.
2) It encourages exploration and communication online and off. This is huge, sitting behind your computer talking to a stranger is way to common place now. Hell I'm doing it nowPokemon go forces you to get up, travel and probably bump into other people doing the same thing. I've run into so many people that are clearly sitting at pokestop's and gym's playing Go... All they can do is look
and go
Black, white, old, young.... Knowing that what your doing is literally being done by or to others in real life is and experience that most of the younger generation missed. For us that are 29 and up we remember the arcade and when gaming was just as much of a social event as a going to the movies or bowling and skating.
Pokemon go is an example of how much humans actually enjoy socializing even if its buried subconsciously and how much humans love collecting.
It once again shows that a game doesn't need to be perfect for it to be great.
nintendo and Sega genesis showed us that are older that ages ago.
A DBZ augmented reality game?If this was pokemon, I wouldn't be playing. unless it was dbz![]()
Whatever. This is an exact replica of the OG Pokemon games, just transposed to real life maps. Lets not throw rocks at the throne breh.Nintendo didn't even make the game
It's only popular because it's fukking pokemon
