This is like a b-plot in this thread.

It made me think of how language is really learned through immersion, and how that's even a better tool than textbooks, if you ask experts.

Many new refugees and immigrants that are willing to make even the faintest attempt at assimilation in the USA (be they from Ukraine, Syria, Venezuela, Haiti, etc.) will be saying the n-word, because you really get to know a country and its language by studying pop culture, and it is a part of pop culture. Attempts can be made to educate them as to why they should try to avoid saying it, but there may be more attempts from the pop-culture side popularizing the word.
