They ALWAYS do this, its always the same story. They want to clean it up to make it more family friendly. It usually happens when things get too wild. I think there is some money that wants to make it a new tourist destination, but it will never happen. Sosua is a small town with poor infrastructure. It has a nice beach but that is about it. The businesses really rely on mongers to sustain themselves. Families just are not going there like that. This may be the most recent "crackdown" but this is far from the first and won't be the last. It was a joke 10 years ago, its a joke today. The first time I experienced a crackdown I was like damn, no girls. I get in town and there were still girls. It was subdued but that's it. People told me before that it was a normal thing and not to worry, they were right. some developer paid a bribe, the authories show good faith effort, it fails and things go back to normal. The local polititians got paid and said hey we tried.
