Public meeting with the entire police force or precinct in public.

Admission of corruption in the force and justice system.

BUT WHO WATCHES THE WATCHMEN??

You cannot ask our expect a corrupt body to reprimand itself, it literally has no authority or incentive to do so. No one to answer to. It's corrupt from the bottom to the top, so unless the whole thing is gutted open, it cannot and won't be fixed, healed or replaced.

Cops are too afraid of justice in order to submit to it. They are people who have become what they were trained to fear, irrational, violent beings. Fear is created such a mess in the first place. Expecting things to go badly.

Unless a large, open and public dialogue is created and the police adopt a completely open policy, NO Secrets within the force, public access cameras within police buildings, nothing will change.

The police need to be policed.

That should be. The citizens pay their salaries. They suppose to work for all citizens.

There needs to be better training and more stringent screenings and that will solve a huge chunk of the issues. Ive been stopped by well trained cops and poorly trained cops....there is noticeable difference. Unfortunately being a police officer is a job that very very few people are actually qualified to do but the departments need man power to actually function so they lower their standards considerably. Sad that the actual good officers out there gotta suffer because of the bad, but thats the way humans have judged every single group or race from the beginning of time.

ATL…overly
Good thread. My suggestions:

1. A Federally funded standardized training program for all city & state police departments. I overheard on NPR that in Ohio, Police Officers there are ONLY required to get 2 hours of training before they get a gun and badge. I'm sure they're different levels of training across the country, which leads to inconsistency from police across the country...if training can be standardized it can improve the level of service & quality we get from police officers

2. Rules of engagement for cops: In the military there are rules of engagement for how military interact and engage with civilians. If they commit crimes, they can be tried and convicted. Same thing needs to be implemented & updated for police officers on a state & federal level

3. Rewrite laws of how cops are prosecuted. State & federal laws need to be rewritten so cops that commit crimes can be tried to the fullest extent of the law. With the current laws, it is extremely difficult to convict cops for committing crimes. That needs to change to increase accountability and keep us safe

4. Cops & community leaders should be forced to attend & participate in quarterly or annual town hall meetings to discuss police brutality, discrimination and other community issues. This will encourage dialogue and conversation in our community that will hopefully prevent more violence

Once a cop shoots and kills a civilian, there should automatically be a trial...period.

And thats just asking for the very basics
investigation from an unbiased agency, which is the biggest problem imo, but not a trial. these disgusting murders aside, there are people cops need to kill. thats just a fact. so looking at what trials cost us, i dont know about that

i mean if theres an armed robbery and they kill the dude, you want an automatic trial? or is that not what you meant by civilian

The whole "all cops aren't bad" thing.

If a "good" cop doesn't mash on these maniacs when they reveal themselves then what does being a "good" cop even mean?

Any person who wantonly harms another should face punishment. Since the cops who do this don't face consequences then they have no deterrent whatsoever.

"Good" cops won't earn that tag until they start actually fighting for right.

On another note: if someone calls themselves hitting back for revenge... I really think they should find Shooterman Z or someone who we know violated.

A fleeting childhood
Putting a panoramic video camera (similar to the ones Google use for street view of their Google maps function) that gets uploaded daily should be done along with mandating the entire force having a body cam

I like what BLM has done by gaining attention to our problems but it fails at introducing any type of legislative changes.

When that BLM activist confronted Hilary Clinton, all she was saying to Hilary we want to stop being shot or something like that. Hilary told her you have to ask for something.

They haven't done anything of the sort. Instead it's been twitter and facebook posts about bullshyt and paid protests from the Democratic Party.

Police need to be from the communities they live in, not these folks from outside that come in, don't know who the people are they're policing, and then treat everyone in the community as a threat. This is why community policing is a must. Get yo ass outta your police car and walk through some of these neighborhoods and talk to people.

Also, more black people have to start going into law enforcement so that we are better represented in the ranks. We will never have folks from our neighborhoods if no one ever applies.

Police officers should hold at least a bachelors degree before they are allowed into the academy. Stats show that police officers who have obtained at least a bachelors are in incidents at a much lower rate than cops outta high school.

That should be. The citizens pay their salaries. They suppose to work for all citizens.

That isn't the case.

Police precincts need to be screened, combed for rascists. Internal affairs needs to be brought in.

All investigations need to be open to the public. They need to be held accountable to the people they serve, on all levels.

The thing is, behind closed doors the people pulling the strings and allowing this to happen, they want this to happen. Until their hate is admitted and held accountable for, not much will change. We are moving towards this but sadly the road is paved with blood and tears.

Their hypocrisy cannot stand, it has no integrity and WILL collapse on itself. It is madness to base your reality on double standards, secrecy and lies. Collapse is imminent, it cannot go the way they want it to without them showing their true colors.

It seems Trump is already back pedaling, knowing he can't handle this mess. And Hillary would crumble being as flaky as she is.

The thing is, these people do not have the answers so we have to come up with peaceful solutions for both sides. They want us dead but play like it's something else, but they can never go that far in today's world.

Remember, everyone thinks they are the good guy.

There is a curving path to victory in this but it's far too complicated to explain over lunch and my phone. Basically, lead the narrative, control emotions, trap logic with impunity. Use their tactics to our outcome.

:ehh: Powerful thread thus far

1. State guidelines on traffic stops should be revised by a diversity board of some sort that states how cops should interact/react with members of the community, especially if they are minorities.

2. They should get to know the communities they serve. You can't just ride around all-day profiling dudes on some "yeah, he looks like a banger, let me pull him over" on some Offficer Harris-Mint shyt. You need to understand the people who you are talking with. Yes, they may be agitated but brehs aren't out here just intentionally trying to KILL YOU or cause you harm unlike the stereotypes you think of. Some are but MOST are just trying to get back home and go on with their lives

3. Maybe start waving to parishioners/students outside churches/schools :manny: I mean, you sit in your cruiser watching netflix anyways so you may as well make something out of it and THEN go back to watching Marco Pollo...I'm sure some already do this though because cops were pretty cool to us growing up in the 90's...

4. Grand Jury Selection needs over-the-fukk-hauled. These people come in with preset biases on cases that are not as cut and dry as they may seem. If that is known (and it is) then selection should include minimum of 2-4 black people in cases involving black people. I say this because if the situations were reversed and a majority black panel was deciding the fate of white people, they'd claim racism just as so miss me with the bullshyt on this one :mjpls:

What is the desired result that ppl need for them to conclude that police system in this country is not "deeply flawed" and is working as best as humanly possible?
