Been training in martial arts since I was 16. Hold black belts in 4 martial arts, and boxed for 8 years. I'm a bit small though 5'9" 175lbs... but if my cardio were to hold up I think I could go 3 five minute rounds with her without getting tapped. The key to beating Rousey is to not let her bully you in the cage. Nobody has ever really taken it to her because they are afraid to get into her throw range. If you could keep it standing, and punish her with leg kicks and liver shots you could beat her.
Kat tried to so called "take it to her" and we see how that ended. These dudes in here just don't under what level this chic is on. She not no hobby mma fighter this is her life year round 24/7 and she at the very top of the food chain. There's no shame in admiring she would dust that ass. I'm pretty sure bout 80% of these cats don't understand shyt bout judo but talking bout there size and over powering her. When they say that shyt that lets me know they don't understand the grappling or fight game. Period.

Kat went in reckless. Big difference than being aggressive and fighting smart. Odds are I wouldn't beat Rousey, I just said that I think I could last 3 rounds without getting tapped. I know I'd be playing defense throughout most of it, but when it was over with she'd know she was in a fight!

most dudes are saying size and weight and rush for reasons you're not grasping

she gets these little girls down, does what she wants with them, and submits them.... being of similar size and weight... it's gonna be more difficult (not impossible) to have those same results when your opponent is 6'2, you can't even reach his face, and he weighs 135 pounds more than you

it's a little different walking into 3 punches from a 135 pound woman... than it is with someone with a 8 inch reach on you and 135 lbs of extra weight behind those punches

it's a little different trying to grapple a man who can literally pick you up and throw you across the room... a little harder to knock him senseless.. a little harder to sit on his chest and hold him down when he can bench press 2 of you

i'm not saying we'd all win... cause we all ain't that big... but this broad is not superman... she is also not fighting women so much as 10 lbs heavier cause she's afraid to get hurt.... yet you got her easily mopping the floor with grown men 6'2 250?

there is just 1 point to be made really. fukk the mma and the bjj,

she's an olympic level judo medalist. all she has to do is get u clowns to the ground and its over UNLESS u were AT LEAST a division 2 level ncaa wrestler. "did some wrestling in high school" isnt gonna do a goddamn thing to stop u from being taken to the ground BY AN OLYMPIAN! woman or not, elite level technique>strength and minimal technique.

You're buggin breh, an MMA female not being able to handle the average female boxer in an MMA fight? That's as ridiculous as saying that a female boxer couldn't handle the average MMA fighter in a boxing match

I've been doing stand up my whole life, boxing and muay thai for 15 years, and I feel comfortable in the ring with smaller UFC contenders, and know I would give her that work easily in a stand up only session. In an MMA sparring session, most dudes in this thread are getting taken down and tapped out pretty fast.

I've been to a seminar where Rousey was whooping on BJJ black belts, and we're talking about dudes that would easily give us all the work, and dudes that you can challenge at a seminar or by walking into their gym anytime you feel like.

I'm gonna call bullshyt on this unless you're a 180+ lb renzo black belt, then with strength and just being defensive, you probably wouldn't get tapped. If you're just a casual BJJ practicioner, then there's no way you last that long

So we're saying the same thing :manny:

I said I'd give that work, wrestling is about leverage and position, not so much strength, so yes, I would probably get that work on the ground :mjcry:, but it would take a lot more than a dive to the legs or a shin kick to get me down. :jawalrus:
