You're a GM. Which one of these WRs you taking to build your team around? Assuming all things equal: solid young QB who can get the ball downfield and will be leading your team for years to come, solid RB, decent o-line, serviceable TE and WR2.
Honorable Mentions:
Andre Johnson and Reggie Wayne have already done their duty in the NFL. Andre is still going strong, but lets be reality, neither is a franchise cornerstone moving forward.
Calvin, BMarsh, and Fitz aren’t exactly old by any means, but they’re established veterans and Calvin is already the unanimous best WR in the NFL today. If you had to pick 1 WR that is currently active to win a game, it would undoubtedly be Calvin. No point in even discussing it.
Harvin and Crabtree could perhaps reach the level of the 5 elite young WRs, but they're both injury prone and the jury is still out on whether they will grow into reliable top targets.
Alshon Jeffery has burst onto the scene this year, and we all knew he was super talented at South Carolina. I left him out because I think it's a bit too early to put him into elite WR1 territory. I could easily be wrong, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's staked his claim by the end of this season.
Dez is my pick, but obviously I'm biased as a Cowboys fan. Just wondering how people view this young exciting crop of WRs we're blessed with moving forward.
