Kanye doesn't even have an album as good as Dogg Food.

I like each of his albums more.
Only so long I can hear the repetitive rapping on The Chronic.
I cut it off after G thang.
Why? I was born in 97 so I didn't grow up on The Chronic, the only songs I heard from it growing up were Let Me Ride and G Thang, so I have no emotional attachment to it.kill urself
It's impossible for a single album to dominate like that in 2016 (not because of quality) so using that as a critique is silly to me, it's like when people talk about their not being another Michael Jackson to shyt on people when it's humanly impossible for an artist to achieve that level of fame in 2016 solely because of the way the world works. The Chronic was the soundtrack of an entire generation and era.
Kanye doesnt have an album in the top 30 in hip hop history, let alone one of the greatest albums in music history
Of course thecoli was going to say no.

And with the way rap has progressed since then, while for the time their lyrics may have been impressive, it's no better than the average/bad content out today, hell maybe even worse.
The saving grace is the production/hits imo, just like with Doggystyle.
Of course, I recognize that they're two of the best hip hop albums of all time and that a lot of my grievances are based on the generational differences in hip hop so whatever.

But act as though Kanye's music as a whole hasn't defined a generation/been a soundtrack for the decade.
From All Falls Down, Slow Jams, and Through The Wire to Gold Digger, Touch The Sky, and Diamonds, to Stronger, Good Life, Can't Tell Me Nothing, and Flashing Lights, to Heartless and Love Lockdown, to All Of The Lights and Power and more.
Thecoli tries way too hard with their Ye hate.
The only albums from Kangay Zest aka Prostate Monche aka Sticky Anal-Fingaz aka Bruce Bruce Jenner aka Kimye Kartrashian aka Koonye aka Yawnye aka Zzzeeus that ain't better are that horrific weedplate Zzzeeus (Christ This Sucks) & The Love of Prostates aka My Beautiful Dark Twisted Foreclosure aka Prolapse Blowout aka 808's & Prostates aka Late Lubrication
And that's only cuz they the only projects without verses from the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd
Unfortunately for Dre, any project with a verse from the GOAT our Flow Lord and Lyrical Savior Hova Da Gawd is automatically superior to a project without one![]()
I know Kanye said that, and I've read and listened to plenty of content discussing the impact of The Chronic and the whole black angst thing you're talking about.I can't speak for the rest of The Coli, but it isn't out of hate for Kanye people are choosing The Chronic. The Chronic birthed classics. It's one of the most influential Hip Hop albums ever. It pretty much birthed Death Row. Snoop Dogg made his debut on it. It provided a soundtrack to the angst that came with the Rodney King beating and just the angst of Black people in general. Of course, there's party records, but that album was much more than that. It's still a standard bearer and Kanye himself said it's the standard that any Hip Hop artist would hold their album to if they are serious.

But facts are it would be essentially be impossible for Kanye or anyone in hip hop to make an album achieving that sort of legacy by virtue of it already being an established genre, so it's not really a factor when I'm comparing them, personally.
I play The Chronic once every two months at least probably, absolutely love Dre Day, but it just doesn't touch any Kanye album personally.
