Where in Texas did you stay? It honestly depends where you stay in Texas. Because I know East Texas for sure has a whole lot in common with The Boot. They're right next door. Houston especially, has always had a kinship with Louisiana. Even before Katrina.

Was based in San Antonio and kinda moved around but people keep bringing up East Texas and the Texas people we actually looked up to from there so I might have to fukk with it one time.

Location wise? Yes.

Culturally? Anything east of Austin is Southern to a degree. Everything west of it is Southwest. Austin itself, from what I understand, is a cultural anomaly within its own state, so I'd draw the line there.

I've always felt Austin, DFW, and SA were the "Transitional Cities" since they all straddle I-35, and I-35 It's self has always been seen as the dividing line to me between the South and the Southwest.

It takes me less hours or equal time to drive to Virginia/North Carolina cities than it does to drive through NY state itself.

Dallas is 11 hours away from ATL. NYC is 13-15 hours away from ATL. But according to your logic the dude living 11 hours away in Dallas is more qualified to speak on it. Lol
