KD gets his first. This chasm in ability created by the media between KD and LBJ is grossly exaggerated if not entirely false. Him finally getting hardware is the only thing stopping him from entering the discussion of that top 10-15 players list with upward trajectory as long as he stays healthy.

LeBron didn't come back to Cleveland to "make things right". He came back to Cleveland because he saw a washed up and overly bulked Wade and a softy Chris Bosh fail him in the finals and knew he wasn't winning again with that core.

The "make things right" is what the media focuses on, but to LeBron that was just a cherry on top to playing with a 23 year old Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love.
Going back to Cleveland was a far riskier move though. He was leaving Pat and a winning organization.

Many people questioned why leave to join up with two guys who know nothing about winning. Even after the 1st year when he basically went to the finals by himself (Kyrie was about 60% and no Love) there were still major questions about it.

People said going to Cleveland was giving up championship hopes.

:dahell:

Going to Cleveland lengthened lebrons window to win titles

Love was seen as arguably the best power forward in the league by some

Kyrie was an all star with superstar potential

Cavs were a team.who could contend for 7 or 8 years

I am 99.9% sure Cleveland was the odds on favorite to win it all that year. Nobody saw GSW coming.

NBA Predictions, Betting Odds 2014-2015: Where Will The Cavs, Bulls, Lakers, Knicks, And Spurs Finish In The Regular Season?

Kyrie may not have known anything about winning, but it was clear he was ultra talented and just needed to be put in an environment that made learning to win even a possibility. LeBron teaming up with him over Wade was a no-brainer - there's a 10 year age difference between the two of them.

The general consensus surrounding Love was similar.

I don't know, to me Cleveland's situation was so obviously better than Miami's at the time. Pat Riley or not. Though in retrospect, LBJ + Whiteside + the remnants of Wade woulda been crazy with or without Bosh.

Don't get me wrong there were definitely pros to him joining Cleveland. However, there was still the fact he was joining up with a lottery team and leaving a squad that just went to 4 straight finals.

Do yall brehs not remember the Coli's reaction (internet reaction) the first couple of months about how Bron made the wrong decision. :gucci:

I guess both could be right. Both were great situations. However, Cleveland was still viewed as the riskiest. If it was about Chips people were saying he should have went to the Clippers if he just wanted to leave Miami.

LeBron's greatness + Kyrie's obvious budding greatness + Kevin Love (or #1 pick Andrew Wiggins if they ever actually entertained keeping him) + a weak as fukk eastern conference + an aging Spurs team = LeBron's move to Cleveland wasn't as risky as you might think.

GSW came out of nowhere. If they didn't, I think we'd potentially be talking about LeBron going for ring #5 right now. Only other team I think could have stopped them was OKC.
