Has anything devolved in terms of skill like Rapping has? Look at how something like basketball or baseball was played in the mid 1900s compared to the modern games. Usually humans advance and get better as time goes on. But somehow rappers have gone backwards in terms of actual skill. shyt is insane.

Not until hardcore punk, post punk, and post hardcore did punk rock start incorporating better songwriting and technical proficiency. Before that, it was moreso about the attitude and Message behind the music. Which is why a lot of it is an acquired taste. But all that post xyz shyt is just them taking from other genres.
