TYRONE GA!
I never got the hype with that nikka. U know hip-hop in a dark place when u see ppl hyping this nikka new music and crappin on that new Nas & Premier album.

Every style of music has its run popularity wise. A lotta these newer nikkaz can't run rap worth a damn and it's been that way for a minute now. That's why people movin on from it. There's a reason a lot of the OG's in the game projects are so much better than the current newer crop of rappers.

Has anything devolved in terms of skill like Rapping has? Look at how something like basketball or baseball was played in the mid 1900s compared to the modern games. Usually humans advance and get better as time goes on. But somehow rappers have gone backwards in terms of actual skill. shyt is insane.

I'd be happy if these frauds just sang their hooks and cut out the rapping altogether.

Yes. You could say the same about punk music

In its early days, it was exactly that. A degradation of rock music back to basics in reaction to progressive music and bands who tried to take the blues out of rock. AKA they were on that "no nikkas" tip :mjpls:

Many punk classics weren't respected by critics upon release cause it was seen as some bonehead shyt. Pretty much the same way mumble rappers are perceived

Sid vicious is to geddy lee what lil yatchy is to Killer Mike :pachaha:

Not until hardcore punk, post punk, and post hardcore did punk rock start incorporating better songwriting and technical proficiency. Before that, it was moreso about the attitude and Message behind the music. Which is why a lot of it is an acquired taste. But all that post xyz shyt is just them taking from other genres. Invented by black people no less, so you see how things came full circle :mjlol:

You can just tell from the specific posters who responded on the first page that this thread was made in The Locker Room and then later dumped in The Booth.

You can't compare rapping to sports because one actually requires skill. If you're not at a certain level you can't become a professional athlete. Music is subjective so people like listening to someone mumble words there's nothing you can do about that.
