All this proves is that the safety nets/ welfare services in Canada are lightyears ahead of the US. If shes been diagnosed with a legit debilitating anxiety disorder then I don't really have an issue with it

There is the apartment complex everyone calls "Baby Mamaville" All these single mothers living off the government. They pay like $12 a month. Have their deadbeat wannabe drug dealer boyfriend living there with them.

How dare she has to sacrifice and even consider moving into a two bedroom apartment.

How dare she only get 1,500 a month for her anxiety disorder.
how dare she gets another 1,000 a month for child benefits.
How dare she only gets 2,500 a month after taxes, the wicked government, only giving this single mom 30,000 a year after taxes.


I'm happy she is not settling and will make sure to get a 3bdrm apart for 1,400 a month

It's ridiculous when the media highlights the occasional egregious circumstance to slander an otherwise good program, though.

My parents had one child because they were struggling and it was either have one and provide as much as you can or have another and split that between the two kids and struggle even more. Some parents make poor decisions and then they wonder what happened in life for them to deserve this...

I get that people get down on their luck and maybe come into some bad circumstances but isn't social assistance supposed to be a temporary thing? And wouldn't that be the case as well for social housing? A temporary place to live which would become vacant at some point which would assist the next person who needs help. As it is, people stay on social assistance for the rest of their lives and have all these expectations from people who are working. Employment Insurance is temporary. The same should be said about social assistance. Just saying.....
