At this rate the blowback of Kawhi winning a title with the Clippers would be more than LeBron ringing again in LA. It's not affecting our ability to win a title in any way as we're still at least 2-3 years out from contending. So there have been small grumblings online that maybe the Spurs would consider taking Russell Westbrook's contract as part of some moves that land Kyrie on the Lakers.
The theory being that if LAL packages Westbrook with unprotected 1st rounders in 2027 and 2029* to the Spurs, those picks could be quite high. Especially since Lebron and Davis would probably be long gone by then.
People floating this idea try to remind others that the Lakers were pretty bad in the latter years of Kobe's career and after his retirement and had quite a few lottery picks (They had the 7th pick in 2014, 2nd pick in 2015, 2nd pick in 2016, and 4th pick in 2019 -- though the Lakers traded that player, De'Andre Hunter, to Atlanta)
*It should be noted that the Lakers cannot trade away their 2029 1st round pick until the 2022 NBA season begins.
What are your thoughts on this interesting, albeit unlikely, idea??
I think the timeline for the Spurs fielding a strong team is closer to 4-5 years. At this rate the blowback of Kawhi winning a title with the Clippers would be more than LeBron ringing again in LA. It's not affecting our ability to win a title in any way as we're still at least 2-3 years out from contending.

Someone on Reddit said Blake Wesley is Jaden Ivey but with less flashy dunks.Blake Wesley![]()

Yup they have similar play styles and also grew up together.Someone on Reddit said Blake Wesley is Jaden Ivey but with less flashy dunks.
I hope that’s true because that would be an amazing value pick.

Anybody else tired of these crybaby spurs fans? I mean, shyt happens. If nephew didn’t leave the way he did we would be in playoff contention. Spurs got screwed in a number of other ways too, like the whole Morris trade situation.
I mean, if you’re a fan it shouldn’t phase you. Pops, Parker, ginobli and Duncan can’t stay forever. I mean the Murray trade sucks because he made significant strides in recent seasons, but honestly down the line I don’t think he would have stayed anyway.
