This shyt instantly brings alot of shyt to mind and has me on a mini-rant:
Alot of cats have sketchy shyt in their childhood from before they were really active. And just like on here, you have apologists and mixed opinions on what is allowable or not, dudes outside have these conversations and there is varied opinions...
Only the people from where he from, who grew up with him or know him personally should really be talking about it, because they the only ones who know him intimately. It speaks volumes that apparently most of Philly is distancing themselves from him, they the ones who know him. Trust and believe there are scenarios where it would be reversed and the city and cats his age in his city would be behind him completely...
I've seen it come out where somebody told something when they were young as hell and it didn't effect them because they had amassed credibility. It was still gossip but didn't really hurt them. I've seen sus shyt come out from when you were hella young and it did affect your reputation entirely...
As I've said before, alot of this comes down to the level of influence and notoriety you have. nikkas will defend grown men who snitch, who were actually fully immersed in the streets, if the notoriety and influence or power or popularity fit the bill, and will do the reverse if they don't...
As a rule, I'm not really concerned with what you did before you were outside, but that should be known and verified by people who were around you. If the read on you is, when you were 14 you were running around puffing your chest out on some tough guy shyt to other kids your age, you have a slim margin for it to come up that you told. And when you read the transcript, he didn't have to say anything at all...
If you choose to talk its best to stay outta the street culture on any level so there isn't a debate about your actions. But like I said, the fact that Philly is distancing themselves from him tells me he must really portrayed himself one way regardless, and doesn't have the skin in the game to survive it...
The streets aren't a myth, there's just double standards all over the place. When you jump in and you're really in, you'll learn this after awhile. My guess is youngin was never outside on any heavy level but he from a rough block, witnessed a murder, was around easy access to guns, that puts batteries in plenty cats backs to think they tougher than what they are...
If he WAS outside at 14 this is a complete no-go but it doesn't seem as if he was. I keep telling cats, this board gets hyperbolic on the prevalence of Yummy Standifers---->they exist but compared to the volume of teenage kids in any school, only a small percentage are actually really outside, and a much smaller percentage of cats younger than 15 who are outside. This website speaks sometimes as if every hood is filled to the brim with teenagers tearing shyt up and that isnt reality...
There are kids catching bodies and cases at 13, 14, 15, 16 who were not really with the shyts, because tge overwhelming majority of people that age aren't...
Once you portray yourself a certain way is when these rules start applying. Doesnt mean the rules aren't bent and broken and inconsistently applied, because they are, but if youngin came out rapping without the killer talk, I doubt he'd be in this situation. Probably still a lane for him in rap if he deviates from it...
Just my long two cents on it!
