Woman found shot to death inside car in NE Atlanta
ATLANTA —
Atlanta police are investigating the murder of woman in a northeast Atlanta parking lot.
Police say someone shot her while she was sitting in her car on Cheshire Bridge Road.
Friends have come to the area to put some flowers, say a prayer, and placed candles here for the victim. The medical examiner has not released the name of the victim, pending notification of family members.
We’re talking to friends of the victim on Channel 2 Action News Saturday AM.
Officers were called to parking lot around 10:15 p.m. Friday. They found a woman shot multiple times in her black Mercedes SUV, outside a strip of shops that include a restaurant and salon.
Friends told Channel 2’s Steve Gehlbach she came her to get her makeup done. It appears she was shot through the front passenger side window.
Homicide investigators say they have not identified any suspects and have no motive for the murder.
"We're actually interviewing witnesses on the scene. We do have a number of people who were on the scene when the incident occurred. We are collecting evidence, a number of shell casings,” said Atlanta Police Capt. Ben McGee.
Friends say Friday was the victim's birthday.
