you dont see it because you didn't actually read the article

do you know any angolans? are you familiar with angola at all?

actually don't answer that, because if either were "yes" you wouldn't have typed such dumb shyt into internet posterity

Money coming into a country is a net positive. China is corrupt too and yet their country thrives and develops so long as new money continues to flow. You don't know what you're talking about as relates economics.

A Portuguese man on an EU committee is saying an African nation that has his country at its mercy is corrupt? Shocking :comeon:

The article clearly states that its money going from Angola into Portugal and not the other way round. It can be argued that these assets might turn out to be bargains in the long run but many African countries have better growth prospects and projects that the Angolans could take advantage of if they so wished. Mozambqiue a fellow Portuguese speaking country had one of the biggest natural gas finds and the Angolans could invest in those areas. The elite in Angola from what i have read are part of a group that had Portuguese leftists that opposed Salazaar and some of whom were sympathetic to the ruling MPLA. There definitely is an element of an affinity held for Portugal by some of the Angolan elite that i think is not broadly felt by the broader population. The article further states that there are a 100 000 Portuguese citizens staying in Angola and i can bet most of them make a good living out there.

Brehs the only ones benefiting from it are the Dos Santos family the MPLA and the leaders of SONAGOL. Luanda is the most expensive city in the world. and right next to the High rises are the slums

They also built that ghost town a few years back, i remember when the renders for that project was on skyscrapercity and a bunch of people mentioned that it had potential to turn out into a ghost town and it did. They priced the units at $150 000 i think and they actually believed they could get middle class people in those apartments when few people could afford it. I get the idea they have with Sonangol and trying to use it like some giant private equity but from what i have seen about them and their partnership with some Chinese group it seems to concentrate on investments outside the country. They apparently have an association with some group called the Queensway Syndicate which has some Chinese connections and have bought real estate in Manhattan as well which brought them a lot of attention.

It's easy, cac. Your specious conjecture around "new elite vs old elite" is just a way to change the subject. I don't give a fukk about Portugal cacs and never will :pacspit:

I'd heard about Angola lending Portugal money a while back. So they're still the poor? Fantastic.

dos santos family you say :ohhh:

say BREHS, that name sounds mighty portuguese :ohhh:
Eduardo Dos Santos president of Angola since 1975. Homie runs that place like he owns it. Look up his daughter Isabel Dos Santos one of the richest women in Africa. she has been buying alot of the Portguese businesses. she sits on a few boards. Dos Santos' folks arent even Angolans they were workers who came from Sao Tome (off the coast of Africa). While you are at look up manuel Vincente

Not all concepts are difficult to understand nor need to be complicated to be understood. Portugal is a cac European country whose crimes are eternal. I actually know people whose parents are Portugese. They're racist as fukk Italian type of people. Angola is a rising nikka country. What is the fukk is there to debate? :rudy:
