It's the truth. Killzone has always looked better but performed worse than other shooters.

The fanboys can yell out resolutions and graphical effects on the forums, but when it comes time to play the games none of that matters and killzone can't keep up with its competitors.

I also have a gaming pc hooked up to the "vizio" and play with resolution and fps quite often. Again yall nerds are full of shyt of you are telling me the difference isn't miniscule

Different priorities. Different type of games. There were plenty of fighting games this gen that didn't match the resolution of seemingly more intensive games. Unless you are a dev working on the game, you wouldn't know what's easy and what should be done.

the difference pixle wise is one thing. what's more important to me is that you're seeing it displayed at your native resolution. it just looks so much 'crisper' when it's not being scaled at all

I can tell the difference, but 30fps vs 60fps is what console heads should be worried about first. I heard Watch Dogs might have been delayed because of all the technical difficulties they were running into trying to get it at a solid 60fps on the consoles...they might not be able to do it at all.

games like Far Cry 3 on the consoles are unacceptable to me...frames felt like they started going into the single digit territory and it doesn't matter if its at 720 or 1080...anything below 30fps in 2013 is to me.

I think Beyond Two Souls is apparently 720p, but its always in letterbox anyway...that's why it looks so good.

So in closing, yes 1080p is obviously what they should aim for. If I had to make a decision based on how I PLAY. I would prefer 720p60 vs 1080p30 because I play on a 24" monitor.

I feel bad for this upcoming generation because we are about to enter G-Sync 1440P territory on the PC. I might not be able to play ANYTHING but exclusives on the consoles at this point.

In motion, larger, upscaled pixels may be more noticeable but persistent on-screen elements - like the HUD - are likely to be rendered at native 1080p.

The takeaway from our testing with the detail-rich Crysis 3 was that the situation isn't as much of an issue as it is on current-gen console, where sub-720p imagery can look really grim, particularly in concert with post-process anti-aliasing. Clearly though, final judgement on multi-platform next-gen titles that employ different resolutions will be reserved for our hands-on comparisons with final retail code.

I know some of you will say you can see a difference in the shots they posted, but I can not.

720p vs 1080p is a DEFINITE difference. 1080p is over TWICE the amount of pixels on screen vs 720p and near 50 percent more pixels than 900p. You can tell easily especially on a bigger screen where those addtional pixels come into play.

On a computer yes but on a TV where everything is scaled to the tv native not so much. Most computer monitors don't have built in scalers. Most tv's do, some are better than others. The scaler built into the X1 (Im sure the Ps4 has one to) is supposed to be very good scaler. So no you would be able to tell the difference unless someone told you.

Um yes if you have a good upscaler dvd player. Oppo made its name at this. It puts some blu-rays players to shame. And the Oppo is upscaling a much smaller image (480p) to 1080p a much harder job than scaling 720p or 900p to 1080p.

hold up, you really believe this? An upscaled DVD is on the same level as a native 1080p bluray.
