I know its not as good but damn close if it has a good scaler chip in it. But as I said scaling 720p or 900p is much easier than scaling 480pany scaler isn't magic. it will never look as good as the real thing

Damn your comprehension is bad! Did say it was just as good! Said it was close.hold up, you really believe this? An upscaled DVD is on the same level as a native 1080p bluray.
that's it....I'm outta this thread

have you played ANY kill zone game before? then joints are smooth as hell. It's the truth. Killzone has always looked better but performed worse than other shooters.
The fanboys can yell out resolutions and graphical effects on the forums, but when it comes time to play the games none of that matters and killzone can't keep up with its competitors.

Um yes if you have a good upscaler dvd player. Oppo made its name at this. It puts some blu-rays players to shame. And the Oppo is upscaling a much smaller image (480p) to 1080p a much harder job than scaling 720p or 900p to 1080p.

Um nothing to say of worth I see.
the difference pixle wise is one thing. what's more important to me is that you're seeing it displayed at your native resolution. it just looks so much 'crisper' when it's not being scaled at all
succinctly put.you said an up scaled DVD is close to native 1080p.Um nothing to say of worth I see.
Yes with a QUALITY scaler. I see you dont deal in av equipment. Its okayyou said an up scaled DVD is close to native 1080p.

you'd rather play 720p60 for consoles right? I find it hard to believe you'd say that when you can tinker with settings and get 1080p60 on pc games provided that you have capable hardware.I can tell the difference, but 30fps vs 60fps is what console heads should be worried about first. I heard Watch Dogs might have been delayed because of all the technical difficulties they were running into trying to get it at a solid 60fps on the consoles...they might not be able to do it at all.
games like Far Cry 3 on the consoles are unacceptable to me...frames felt like they started going into the single digit territory and it doesn't matter if its at 720 or 1080...anything below 30fps in 2013 isto me.
I think Beyond Two Souls is apparently 720p, but its always in letterbox anyway...that's why it looks so good.
So in closing, yes 1080p is obviously what they should aim for. If I had to make a decision based on how I PLAY. I would prefer 720p60 vs 1080p30 because I play on a 24" monitor.
I feel bad for this upcoming generation because we are about to enter G-Sync 1440P territory on the PC. I might not be able to play ANYTHING but exclusives on the consoles at this point.
If I had to choose between 720p60 vs 1080p30? Yeahyou'd rather play 720p60 for consoles right? I find it hard to believe you'd say that when you can tinker with settings and get 1080p60 on pc games provided that you have capable hardware.
