JR sold the fukk outta this :russ:

"for the love of God the sins of the father are costing us all here in the WWF!"

"july 9th, 2001 a date that will live in Sports Entertainment infamy!"

"ladies and gentlemen, may God have mercy on our WWF souls!"

Sighs...as somebody that forced enjoying the godawful era...

  • Got us RVD
  • Evolved Stone Cold's character (WhAt!)
  • Hurricane got his time to shine
  • Retired the WCW Belt and made it into the GOATed World Heavyweight Championship belt
  • Exposed Taker for being a absolute mark and a prick of himself
  • Good transition to bringing in Flair and the rest, despite the weird booking in the end
Also gave us one of the best Heyman promos:

Pros: Stone Cold/Kurt Angle were hilarious, matches were generally good to great especially SummerSlam 2001

Cons: Anyone that was in the Alliance looked like chumps because of backstage politics :francis:

As a WCW guy I hated the Invasion angle. Agree with all the op pretty much though.

2025 and Edge still isn't worth a damn. Proto-Seth Rollins.

Always funny looking back at how Vince had no interest in spending the amount of money in buy-outs and time stroking egos it would've taken to make that the once in a lifetime angle it should've been. Imagine if Adam Silver had a chance to get MJ, Bron, Kobe, Steph, Magic, and Bird all on the same court for a Finals.

Instead he treated that shyt like his own personal victory lap :mjlol: Had Austin, Shane, and Perc Angle on team WCW :dead::dead:

The real winner from the Alliance angle was RVD blowing up. He was red hot. Hotter than Cena and Cripple H. But they blew it and they chose to go with Brock Lesnar for the Summerslam 02 push...they've pushed monster Lesbar for years afterward but RVD was who the fans really chose...just like the fans chose Mickie over McCool, Lita, Trish, and Beth Phoenix...like they chose AJ Lee over the Bellas...chose Bryan over Sheamus.

Even with just DDP and Book, showing them any level of respect would've made it better. Like DDP said he had Kimberly at home but was coming there obsessed with Sara. :picard:

RVD not defecting from the alliance was a missed opportunity.

Its as if Vince didnt know it was a work. Like he didnt realize he owned it all and stood to benefit from any success WCW had. Imagine the money that woulda been generated by a legit attempt? If he played it right he coulda actually owned his competition and profited off it all ala Viacom and BET/MTV. Still pissed he wasted our time and that opportunity.
