People in Montreal dont care about the NBA and NBA players dont care to play in Montreal

It wont work. Language barrier doesnt help either. That province supports Hockey and nothing else.

you could hand that city a nba team on a silver platter and that franchise would completely self-destruct within a few years..

montreal is a terrible place to open up shop for the nba.

This.

Bum ass Montrealers just trying to hype shyt up for no reason, saw this today too about a potential MLB team

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-b...d-about-bringing-baseball-back-025212957.html

City is run down with no stadium, no pro team is heading there

I think the Expos coming back to Montreal is realistic for two reasons.

1. Rob Manfred has said if MLB expands it'll be to markets outside of the U.S.

2. Rogers damn near has a monopoly on the Canadian sports programming. They have NHL national rights, Junior hockey, Blue Jays, regional rights for the Oilers, Habs, Canucks and Flames and partial rights for the Maple Leafs, Raptors & Toronto FC. Bell (the other major telecommunications company in Canada) has the CFL, regional coverage for the Jets and Senators and partial rights for the Maple Leafs, Raptors & Toronto FC.

Bell could own the team and broadcast them nationally as one of flagships of the TSN network. The Expos 1.0 didn't really run into problem until there started to be a revolving door of owners. Expos 2.0 would do well with stable ownership (and probably a new ballpark).

That's cool, but where they gonna play? :patrice:

Sounds like they're at least 5+ years away from any serious plans
