What's the trumpet sound? Not the hook

I should have said “horn” not trumpet. It’s the main two note melody that plays throughout the song. I think the actual sample is a guitar pitched down, which sounds more like a horn to me after it was pitched down.

I've wanted to know what the samples are for Alchemist & Big Twin's 'Different Worlds' and Jay-Z's 'Bring It On' for 20 gd years at this point. Can anybody solve this mystery?
I’m in a couple circles with good diggers (Including a couple fairly well known producers) and good ears that have found a lot more than what can be found on whosampled, and I can definitely say that no one I know has found either sample. Bring it On seems to be one of the big holy grail samples as far as Primo’s catalogue is concerned, and Different Worlds is one of the few early era Alc beats that hasn’t had the sample discovered yet.

pretty crazy that neither has been found considering they both are either loops or have long enough melodic portions between chops to identify if you heard them.

You are not serious.
There are a lot of questionable ppl on the coli.

But ppl on here appear to be supporting this.
So play on and see if yall can get some ppl jammed up.

Good luck.
I think the Coli is a way safer place than Reddit or KTT, but I tend to agree. I don’t like the idea of posting samples on open forums.

It’s bittersweet because I really like hearing stuff that gets discovered, but I love sampled music and I don’t want my favorite producers to have a harder time than they already do. Now more than ever cats are having to forfeit publishing or just can’t release the music, period.

The exact artist from the OP has one album that’s being held up due to sample clearance issues from Shady Records (God Don’t Make Mistakes), and another album (Hall and Nash 2) that got shelved by Shady Records due to sample clearance issues and had to get remade before slated to drop this year independently. I also heard the Just Blaze Griselda album was set to drop on Shady but sample clearance issues killed it too.

So yeah. I doubt Shady has A&Rs on thecoli but you never know, right?

You're not really digging if someone already did the work for you, a la youtube channels, don't even get me started on whosampled

I used to go out and dig for records but digging for shyt on soulseek or youtube is a lot more practical these days..You dont get that same satisfaction or reward from it though, thats the only thing I miss

You kinda captured my sentiment, I understand the practicality and yo I've got a gang of shyt in FLAC that I ripped myself but it's so simple now on top of it some of these dudes front like they were out there digging frfr, zero pride at play just hit up any channel and avoid the stuff sampled by folks who are 6 degrees shy of Roc Marc, you know what I mean.

Yeah I hear that man..If I sample something off youtube or soulseek I always try and make sure its something super obscure like some eastern european or japanese shyt from the 70s that I know no one else is fukkin with. Another problem is all the fukkin record stores have all closed down which makes finding physical shyt a lot harder. The ones that are still around charge crazy prices. There's no excuse nowdays for anyone to be sampling some shyt thats already been sampled either, we got literally all the music in the world at our fingertips

Everything Remains Raw and the original Crooklyn joint Q Tip did are holy grails to me if anyone ever found them. I got a couple personal finds, but as cats have said I don't think I'd post them on an open forum.

Pretty sure the original Crooklyn sample has been found actually.
