i have something similar available offered it's like a 401k just under a different name. I'm a mailman right now only been at it for 2 years. I'm 24 when did you guys start your plans??? I haven't enrolled yet.

Breh if you're 24 you're in a great position to start. The younger the better. You should enroll as soon as possible.

I am... "The nikka who buys too many shoes...."

I started at 21, wish I started at 19.... so its been 5 years (March 08 to the present). Part time job, started off at 10% went to 11%, then down to 5% in January of 2013 so i could start working on my savings. I am happy to say when I leave this job, at least i'll have "something to show for it."

I ain't shyt. Trying to get me a government job currently, almost done school (Fall 2014/Spring 2015).

Nah you good. Keep contributing and that compounding interest will work wonders over time.

You said you had a 401k then you backtracked

:heh:

I'm not going to knock you for being destitute.

Maybe you should focus on your future instead of your alternate personalities because in the end they're all going to struggle.

All jokes aside though, why would a man in his 30's gainfully employed in the private sector earning middle class wages choose to not have a 401k? That is quite odd.

I have other investments that i like to tie my money into. Im sure in the future taxes are going to increase dramatically in the united states so id rather not have my money tied into a 401k but instead, in my own investments.
