West Coast beats have a lot in common with NY beats.

You don't think sampling, in any sense, whether it be Herc with the Merry Go Round, Marley Marl, or Dre replaying shyt, is s foundational characteristic?

G-funk and the old school ny beats didn't sound the same at all.

Sampling is part of hip hop, and a good thing but that doesn't mean if you don't sample you're not making rap music.

All I'm saying is when you define what rap really is you're limiting creativity. I want to see country singers, rock singers, trance, house music bring their elements to rap music because it will bring creativity yo the music.

Like Black Dot said who's from the golden era of new york music said. Mumbling rappers are moving rap music forward why because it's something new, its creative it's their own style. Like he said about J cole, Kendrick Lamar who I'm fans of their music is good but it's really nothing new I've heard it all before what they're saying.

Gucci has legendary influence but his music has always been trash. Without his image nobody would care.
All the ¨new artists¨(Boogie,Don Q, Young M.A) from NYC are trash.
Nas has too many mediocre albums to be the GOAT ( Top 5 definitely)
Jigga and Bey make horrible music together.
Lil Yachty and Uzi are objectively shyt and are adored by white frat guys and anime nerds.
Lupe could've been the one but ended up as a preachy bitter cornball who sometimes flashes his greatness.
Mobb Deep fell of after 1996 ( Had a spark when you...)
Ghostface Killah isn't that good compared to RZA,GZA,Rae, Meth, Deck. He's entertaining though.

A lot of west coast rappers/albums are trash to me (like laughably garbage. For example kurupt) and I find it hilarious that they're best rapper is from NY and was named mc NY. shyt gotta be embarrassing (but I fukk with e40 so who am I?)
Tupac is also hella overrated.

Funny seeing southerners front like they weren't and still are kinda laughing stock status (from fashion to rap). Side note, I fukk with southerners (I remember a chick telling me I had a southern demeanor ) heavy but the shyt I read on here be funny.
