Hip hop is finished. Its been finished. This is the gentrification era of hip hop. Aside from what you just said, there aint any money for anyone in rap with the exception of 15% or less like Wake Up Now. Especially now that all these white rappers use their privilege and connections and numbers to get on. they dont even need to appeal to black audiences or get tyat cosign anymore it means nothing to them. They have no respect for black music and culture. They use it as a come up.i wouldn't go that far, but hip hops' white fan base from the 2000's have clearly taken over

I survived until around just after mala released mala in cuba in 2012...I had enough once a fraud like compa was getting big looks and had the nerve to remix dmz tunes without permission and distance was allowing guys like sleeper and district to release the most blandest sh1t ever. Youngsta's rinse sets just became to much of a bore and I got tired of coki not recognising when he was making a sh1t track, loefah not recognising he was ruining the uk underground scene with swamp 81 and brostep becoming what was considered the default version of dubstep

rinse fm and bbc radio 1 and all of their channels have better broadcasts to listen to.
Im in NYC now. Living in Brooklyn. Like its cool cause artists from all over the world come here. But most of these cats that come here and make music are making somw pretentious lifeless stuff but it gets press cause their friends run blogs and venues.

The most interesting stuff going on is novelist's tugg set/vision crew ruff sound movement (him making 'grime' at 160bpm)...if you're not familiar the best set is the ruff sound showcase he did on nts radio like a month back
