Was gonna post just the whole first verse but fukk it. The song in its entirety is too beautiful to neglect it's other parts that are just as great.
:wow:

Jadakiss with another one :ohlawd:
"I'm as real as they come, I follow the rules
I'm still in the hood but I probably should move
Made enough money, I don't fukk around
I just felt they needed me, so I stuck around
Feds got my man, shyt is real son
Cause my god son just became my real son
Think life is a game but all you get is a turn
You live and you learn, either you freeze or you burn
Kush in the air, I'm pushing the gears
Love turned into hate, hate turned into fear
If it ain't right, I don't sign the deal
Shoot me in the watch, I got time to kill
Gasoline, propane, ain't no salary cap in the dope game
Ain't no collective bargaining on cocaine
So in other words nikka, do your thing"

Melle Mel has an all time great philosophical/introspective verse on Beat Street Breakdown: "A newspaper burns in the sand/and the headlines say 'man destroys man ..." Another one to me would be Scarface's last verse on "Who Do You Believe In" that starts out "Now if the ghetto ever made a change it changed for the worse/but I love it so I write in tears and pray til it hurts." Pac had a lot of moments like that but you already posted one. Killah Priest - B.I.B.L.E. is another.

Jay-Z's last verse on "Lucky Me", it's all kinds of :wow:

nikkas see you in the street, pretend to be friendly
But I know any type of success breeds envy
I know in the back of your mind you're conjuring ways to hem me
Leave my friends in a circle pouring out Henny
But G's is heaven bound
So how I'm gon' receive anything y'all pour to the ground? Next time throw it up
And ain't nothing changed, so even in my afterlife I sew it up
Don't grieve for me
My art remains like a dart, from the speaker to your heart
Spiritually through the portal, now my words is immortal
Plan to leave without a fight, I plant a seed I give life
Though I can't see past the girl's greed to call her wife
Next time you're thinking heist, better be precise
Cause I'm fully prepared, one of us is gon' leave here
I have no regrets even though I won't see grow
My godson Boogie, Sonny and Remo

Damian Marly - Patience

If you know it you don't need me to post the lyrics or argue my case, may be the best deep thinking/philosophical verses of all time.
