Why do you need to do an Origins story for Batman?

Rich kid sees his parents gets killed, crime fighter by night, rich playboy during the day. Regardless of whether they do a young or old Batman, we know his origin story.

If MOS2 has Jon Hamm show up as Bruce Wayne doing a press conference with Lex Luthor, the audience isn't gonna go :ohhh: "I wonder who this Bruce guy is" A good script will tell us what type of Bruce Wayne/Bats this DC universe will have. A standalone movie with 30 minutes explaining how young Bruce Wayne decided to dress up like a bat isn't needed.

They don't need to follow the Marvel model. MOS is considered the first in the DC Universe. Have Bats vs Supes in the sequel, have them team up to defeat the enemy, maybe a cameo or 2 from Diana Prince and the Flash and they're good.

It's not just Batman, its not about one character. They're trying to do a Justice League movie. Because of how TDKR ended they will have to reintroduce Batman all over again. A simple origins story would've made since but At the end of the day it wouldn't have taken 1/2 or even 1/4 of the movie to do so. What they needed to do was make a separate Batman flick that would re-establish the new actor and character development and tie it in with the Justice League. The origins they did for MOS was weak. I mean after Krypton was destroyed it was a bunch of flash backs every now and then. They could've taken the same half ass approach with Batman. Maybe "origins" isn't what is needed but every character that is going to be in the justice league should have its own movie unless they view Batman the same way the view Black Widow and Hawkeye :deadrose:

Maybe they decided to do it this way so they wouldn't appear to be blatantly copying off of Marvel :manny:

Why the hate for Bale all of a sudden? I thought he did an adequate job as Batman aside from the voice. People need to understand that the hard core over the top comic book character is very hard to translate on film.

The hardcore over the top batman....is batman. The dude who bale played was a completely different person. He was like moon knight or something. Batman not fighting crime for 8 years? Not batting an eyelash when bane wiped out his fortune. Looking like an idiot through 3 movies about him?The voice? Bale/Batman was the worst thing in his own movies.

And I like christian bale but :comeon:

They don't have to do none of that. Batman is batman and the way TDKR ended was batman alive and well. Even though they don't tie in, there doesn't need to be a reintroduction because everyone knows batman. The Justice League is basically Batman and Superman and everyone else.

That's besides the point. Everyone can "know" a character but if the story is flawed or doesn't make sense or doesn't tie in, then it will make a difference. Maybe Gordon Levitt Hewitt's character picked up at the end of TDKR and becomes Batman. Maybe he pops up somewhere else. That's the ONLY logic thing to do.

And that whole "most people know's" argument is weak. Most people will only go to see the action and not follow the story. But with these writers/directors/producers they come off as wanting shyt to be about the story. Most People like a good plot

Personally id like to see them go the batman beyond route with Blake/Robin. Batman in Nolan's universe wouldnt even be in the same league as superman. They need a suped up batman to help...not that he needs to be on the same level speed and strength wise...if skyscrapers start collapsing around bats, how he gonna survive.

But honestly i dont think this movie should be done, because neither can exist purposefully in either universe thats been created for the movies.

And how is all that Bale's fault? He's just the actor hired to play the role. If you're gonna blame someone blame the Nolan bros and Goyer for writing a shytty Bruce/Batman. Bale did a decent enough job for what he was given I don't blame him I blame Cac Nolan for his "Batman" :scusthov:
