To be fair, ham (not sandwich meat) is not really big in Dominican culture. I guarantee you 80% of Dominicans (living on the island) never cooked a turkey in their life either. Even in my house the turkey is mostly symbolic and cooked out of habit and (American) tradition. Most people don't really pay attention to it. We usually cook things that we'd normally cook on holidays.@ some of y'all not having Ham in the menu.
