Smith was right about LeBatard acting like he's above all this shyt. Just because he had a show "supposedly" making fun of sports TV, it still was fairly dumb. For him to insinuate that Jemele was talking about him was wildly irresponsible. shyt, she could've been talking about Bomani for all I know, but you know he looks at all of the younger ESPN minorities as his mentees while Stephen A. is his peer.

I despise when Dan gets on his high horse about journalism, specially when it's about TV.
He complains about what "debate television" did to ESPN and how the network went away from real journalism. Oh but he can make fun of it because he makes a spoof of sports radio so he can get away with it like he wasn't also a part of making sports content "dumber"?
the whole point of his show was making light of how fukking stupid sports radio was, BEFORE the debate format took over ESPN. He also later makes a silly harmless show with his dad while complaining about the lack of real journalism on his own network
And by the way, what real journalism from ESPN did debate TV kill? Most of the heavy and important reporting that network did wasn't on TV anyway, and them getting rid of it wasn't about First Take having a working formula, it was about how ESPN, like many other media outlets, couldn't figure out how to not bleed money with an investigation unit/staff.
Dan made a similar argument not long about something I can't remember but he was basically shaking his fists at clouds asking for more sport journalism, the whole crew made fun of him at how entitled and grumpy he sounded. Just asking other people to do the work and cry about it while he does fukk all but become a lazier and lazier podcast host
