I don't think that's how it works does it? Don't the Republicans first have to get a vote to the floor? The guys you are naming are never going to win the nomination in their own party to ever get to the floor.

Once the vote is on the floor, can't all the dems + five republicans vote for someone else though, and then it's decided?

The Republicans might vote to nominate one guy, but if 218 people vote for some other guy, that guy wins Speaker even if he wasn't the one the Republicans nominated, right?
